If you haven’t visited already, its not too late! Bug Lab is still on at Melbourne Museum until the 15th October 2017 – perfect for exploring in the September school holidays. Your bug obsessed littlies will just love this interactive insect wonderland. Submerge yourself in their microscopic world and discover their superpowers.

The displays themselves are mesmerising with giant sized bugs so the kids can get up close and catch a glimpse of what life is like as a bug. Learning the secrets of the blue morpho butterfly or the orchid Grashopper were thrilling but my boys favourite was the Jewel Wasp with the ability to turn cockroaches into zombies for their own purposes. Hello Minecraft fans – my boys couldn’t believe there are REAL zombies in the world!

There was loads for the kids to do in the exhibition – colouring in, checking out the bugs under microscopes and even a bug themed slide for them to enjoy.

After we took in the exhibition we headed over to the IMAX theatre for a screening of Bugs: Mighty Micro Monsters in 3D. What a great way to see the bugs up close, although my four year old got a little scared at times (me too!!) as the bugs appeared to crawl off the screen and onto us!

I would highly recommend a visit and why not explore the beautiful museum afterwards – its included in your ticket price.
