I love food and I love my kids. Whenever I can combine the two, I’m in absolute heaven. I’m constantly on the lookout for kid-friendly dining options and I figured if you’re reading this, then you are too! Here are three of my favourite kid friendly cafes on the Mornington Peninsula:

L’AQUA – DROMANA

This restaurant located on the Esplanade at Dromana is the perfect place to catch up with friends and family fuss free. It has an entire section dedicated to family dining with a kids adventure playground to keep the little ones occupied. L’AQUA has a great kids menu and is famous for their Stonegrill technique, where your meal is presented on a heated stone at your table. I absolutely love this interactive dining experience and the steak is so tender and juicy on the Stonegrill.

THE HUNGRY PEACOCK – TYABB

What a lovely space for kids and adults alike. It’s rare to find a place where the kids are safe and entertained so you can catch up on some adult conversations. My kids had the best time here from playing in the dirt to making me pretend cups of tea in the play kitchen. All ages and stages are catered for – there is a gated baby/toddler area, play kitchen, construction zone, cubby house, dress ups, sand pit and much much more. The menu focuses on fresh local produce with plenty of options for the kids. Seriously delicious sandwiches and cake to die for!

LINTON’S CAFE – MOUNT ELIZA

This cafe located in the gorgeous grounds of Eden Landscaping is the perfect spot to catch up for a coffee while the kids enjoy the fully enclosed sandpit and play area. The kids can feed the chickens (or chase them if they’re anything like my 2 yr old!), get creative on the chalkboards or play in the fairy garden. Make sure you check out the gorgeous gift shop and nursery on your way out – the homewares selection is fantastic!
