The Mornington Peninsula is my playground and I’m lucky enough to call this beautiful coastal region my home. A typical winter day in this part of the world is a crisp maximum of 12 degrees with the sun beaming down (okay, mostly!): perfect for rugging the kids up and exploring!
School holidays are just around the corner and chances are, if you’re not following the sun up north, you’re searching for things to do to entertain the kids. Here are my top 3 absolute favourite things to do with my kids on the Peninusla in winter:
1) Go on a bike ride adventure on one of the many bike trails on the Peninsula. My top pick is the Safety Beach Bay Trail which runs right along the water and has spectacular bay views. I usually pack a picnic, load the kids into the bike trailer and enjoy the clean fresh air. Check out all the bike trails on offer HERE
2) Don the gumboots and head to the Mornington Racecourse Craft markets. For me, this is the best of both worlds: there is tonnes for the kids to do and mumma gets to shop. Win win! There are craft activities, a farm where they can pet baby animals and mini train rides. For dates take a look HERE
3) If it’s adventure you’re after, The Enchanted Maze have got you covered! We purchased yearly passes and have found that the winter months are by far the best time to go. There are less crowds and you have the tube rides all to yourself! The gardens are magnificent and its a great way to let the kids run around and wear themselves out. For more info take a look HERE
So what are you waiting for? Head to to Mornington Peninsula this weekend and make your own memories!
