Who doesn’t love a girls trip? (Ok, husbands don’t answer that!!) Nothing beats grabbing some gal pals and heading out of town to a relaxing location. A couple of weeks ago I did just that and headed to picturesque Healesville in the Yarra Valley.

Here’s your MUST DO list for a weekend away in the Yarra Valley:

COFFEE

Church & Main – Great service, delish scones and a relaxed vibe set the tone for the weekend. The staff were super attentive and the food was delish.

Beechworth Bakery – this place is an institution and boy do they make a good coffee! Why not take home a barvarian cream ring… YUM

WINERIES:

Medhurst Wines – This is a beautiful winery with a great range. Tasting wine by the fire looking out onto the vineyards was just perfect. I came home with a case of their wonderful Rose!

Maddens Rise – Such a quirky little cellar door with so much to offer. The atmosphere here is relaxed and the wine is sensational.

LUNCH

Tokar Estate – This has to be one of my favourite restaurants in the Yarra Valley. We had a beautiful table overlooking the vineyards watching the rain come and go outside as we enjoyed our stunning meals. It was great to be able to do a wine tasting before lunch (try before you buy!) and the food is simply magnificent.

Innocent Bystander – After a few wines the night before, nothing hits the spot quite like a delish Pizza. Innocent Bystander did not disappoint! It’s a great stop if you are short on time too because you can get the full Yarra Valley experience all in one place: you can do a wine tasting, cider tasting or cheese tasting. HEAVEN!

DINNER

The Healesville Hotel – All the rustic charm of a little country town coupled with gourmet food that won’t disappoint.

Zonzo – This restaurant is simply beautiful. The set up, the atmosphere, the staff. Just perfection.

ATTRACTIONS

Healesville Sanctuary – We booked in a Magic Moment (and it certainly was magic!!) where we got to snuggle with 1yr old wombat Shadow. You have GOT to put this on your list of things to do in the Yarra Valley. I am not an animal person but even I fell in love with little Shadow. You can check out what the Healesville Sanctuary has to offer HERE.

Yarra Valley Chocolaterie – Did somebody say FREE SAMPLES?! Yep, they certainly did! I *may* have slightly over indulged but in my defence – their chocolate is seriously irresistible! You have been warned 😜

 STAY:

We booked the most charming cottage in Healesville – it looked like something from a postcard. With 5 bedrooms this place is perfect for a group of friends or even a couple of families. We booked through the Stayz website and you can take a look at the property HERE.

What are your fav places in the Yarra Valley? Anything you’d add?
